WEBINAR – Accessing Breast Cancer Care During MCO And Covid-19

The unprecedented emergence of Covid-19 has imposed additional challenges for patients with breast cancer and their healthcare providers.

Prior to the movement control order (MCO) period, barriers in accessing breast cancer care and treatment in Malaysia had already existed. With the imposition of the MCO, reports of cancer patients being turned back at roadblocks and the gazetting of travel restriction beyond 10km for medical treatment (later reversed by the Minister of Health) added to the anxiety and uncertainty. Hospitals being at the front line of a pandemic is also a cause of worry for patients who may be immunosuppressed.

What has been the impact on treatment and care of breast cancer patients? What has been the impact on clinicians and delivery of care? How is the experience different between Peninsular and East Malaysia?
