MEDIA STATEMENT

The 2-day virtual conference “Improving Access To Cancer Treatment And Care” brings together more than 150 patients, patient advocacy groups, caregivers, oncologists, researchers to discuss issues related to cancer care in Malaysia. These include access to timely and effective treatments, surviving cancer and expectations for Budget 2022. The conference is organised by the Galen Centre for Health and Social Policy, the Cancer Care Working Group, with the support of the Malaysia Cancer Care Coalition (M3C) Taskforce.
The White Paper “Cancer Care: Challenges, Gaps And Opportunities In Malaysia” was developed from a review of existing literature, consultations and discussions held in 2019, 2020 and 2021 with persons living with cancer, patient groups, healthcare professionals, policy makers and payers.
