The Galen Centre for Health and Social Policy, the Cancer Care Working Group and the M3C Taskforce, will be organising a virtual conference with multi-sectoral stakeholders to reflect and discuss on the progress, gaps, and opportunities in supporting cancer treatment and care in Malaysia.
The government, past and present, have repeatedly emphasised its commitment to the implementation of improved cancer control and prevention strategies to reduce incidence, mortality and increase cancer survival. This commitment has become dramatically important as the country tackles the ongoing COVID-19 public health emergency.
What challenges have people living with cancer faced over the past 18 months? What gaps have been identified, and what are the kinds of innovations to overcome access issues regarding cancer treatment and care? How can we improve cancer survival in Malaysia?
Working together, we can and must do better.
Attendees to this virtual conference will include representatives from relevant government ministries, patient and care giver groups, private hospitals, medical devices and pharmaceutical industries, insurance, and academia.
The tentative programme is below for your reference.
